Other generalised seizures
Myoclonic seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Brief, shock-like muscular contractions that may be generalised or limited to one or more extremities.
Tonic seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Prolonged strained contraction of the body with deviation of head and eyes.
- Patient becomes pale, flushed, and then cyanotic.
- Body may rotate around in position.
Clonic seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Repetitive clonic jerks without tonic element
Atonic seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Sudden loss of postural tone in the head, trunk, and/or limb
