Motile (polar flagella)

Oxidises but does not ferment carbohydrate
Minimal nutritional requirement
Produce diffusible green (pyoverdin) and blue (pyocyanin) pigment
Cultured on MacConkey agar or standard blood agar.
Rapid development of resistance
First line: Combination of tobramycin + antipseudomonal penicillin
